Experimenting Flashcards
Scientific Method
Systematic observation, measurement, and experiment, and the formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses.
Selection Bias
The selection of individuals, groups or data for analysis in such a way that proper randomization is not achieved, and the sample obtained is not representative of the population intended to be analyzed.
Response Bias
A wide range of cognitive biases that influence the responses of participants away from an accurate or truthful response.
Observer Effect
Changes that the act of observation will make on a phenomenon being observed
Survivorship Bias
The logical error of concentrating on the people or things that ‘survived’ some process and overlooking those that did not because of their lack of visibility.
