16
Q

What is the profess of distillation

A
  • heating mixture of liquids until the one with the lower melting point starts to boil
  • the gas is passed into a condenser where it condenses back to liquid and is collected
-once first component is collected temp will rise until next component boils
17
Q

Enthalpy of combustion experiment

A

1- temp of water at start
2- weigh fuel at start
3- burn fuel /put it out
4- measure max temp of water
5 - weigh fuel

18
Q

Standard solution

A

1- weigh the mass of solute
2- dissolve in small volume of deionised water in beaker
3 - pour into standard flask
4- rinse beaker and stir several times
5- top up to line
6 - mix

19
Q

Weighing by difference

A

1- Tare
2- weigh beaker
3- add required mass and subtract mass of beaker from it
