What’s an advantage of independent group?
Requires separate groups , no order effect participants only take part in 1 condition
What’s a disadvantage of independent group?
Participants variables difference in people may be responsible for results, need more participants
What’s an advantage of repeated measures?
No participants variables exposed to both conditions & fewer participants needed
What’s a disadvantage in repeated measures ?
Problems of order effects because take part in both conditions. Guess aims to expose both conditions
What’s a disadvantage of matched pairs ?
Matching is difficult & not always success plus some participant variables may affect result
What’s an advantage of matched pairs ?
Participants variable reduced & no order effects
What is an independent group
Different participants in each condition
What is a repeated measure?
Same participant in all condition
What is a matched pair?
Different participant but matching pairs on variables in study
What is order effect ?
Performance in 1st condition affects performance in 2nd condition
