• high ecological validity (natura; enviroments)
• difficult to control natural enviroments are hard to keep the same
• could have extranous varibles

Quasi experiments

• have both IV and DV
• naturally occuring IV (no control)
• cant randomly asign groups
• higher in ecological validity
• independent varible is very difficult or impossible to manipulate artificially

Labatory experiments

• take place in controlled enviroments
• dont necesarily take place in a lab (emtpy classrooms - where you can control area)
• can be easily kept the same for different particiapants
• demand characteristcs
  controls extraneous varibles
