PAT Check:

Answer 1

• Are you familiar with the PAT check?
• 15-20 ft hover into prevailing winds
• Activate PHOLD and TRC, turn ALT hold off.
• 60-70% for 15 seconds

Question 2

MFD’s/SFD’s flight instruments - check

Answer 2

• Climb and descent (VSI, BARO, RALT)
• Turn rate indicator (heading indicators and mag compass)
• Inclinometer (ball free in the race)
• Attitude indicators (nose high/low bank left/right)
• Airspeed indicators (check on climb out)
• Hover displays - check

Hover Power Check

Answer 3

1. ) -Position acft in viscinity of takeoff, direction of takeoff, at 10ft hover.
2. ) -Ensure weight is entered accurately into CAAS (Hover override/perf prog)
3. ) -Determine if sufficient PWR is AVAIL to complete the mission by:
   - Actual vs predicted TQ (double actual TQ and ensure it does not exceed MAX TQ avail SE- SE capability?)
   - Actual TQ vs GO/NO-GO TQ (attempt OGE maneuvers)
   - Comparing actual TQ to the validation factor (max wt for mission profile not exceeded)
