A
- Located in fovea (central viewing axis).
- No rods, only cones.
- 5-10 degrees of central visual field.
- Compensated with scanning and off-center viewing.

Day blind spot:
A
- Located 15 degrees from fovea at optic disk (where optic nerve enters the eye).
- No photoreceptor cells.
- Encompasses 5.5-7.5 degrees of visual field.
- Compensated with binocular vision.
