Excretion is the removal of metabolic waste products including urea, carbon dioxide and excess water
What is egestion?
Egestion is the removal of undigested food
Differences between excretion and egestion?

What is the function of the kidney?
To remove waste from blood and remove urea
What is the function of the renal artery?
To carry large amounts of blood from the aorta to the kidneys
What is the function of the renal vein?
To carry blood from the kidney and ureter to the inferior vena cava
What is the ureter?
To carry urine from the kidney to the bladder
What is the bladder?
Acts as a reservoir for urine
What is the urethra?
Allows urine to pass outside the body
What is the function of the renal system?
To filter blood to remove urea, and to excrete it in the urine
