A
The arteries always take blood away from the heart
In the arteries, the blood travels at a very high pressure
For this reason the walls are very stretchy and elastic

A
Veins carry blood back to the heart
They have quite thin walls because the blood in them doesn’t travel at a high pressure
They also have valves that keeps the blood flowing in the right direction

A
The smallest blood vessels
Walls are very thin
The walls are so thin that substances like CO2 and O2 can diffuse through it
Capillaries can be found in all our tissues and organs
