BUMED Responsibilities
(Assists the families)
- Maintain development centers
- Develop policy and procedures
- Provide developmental training
- Assist in ID & eval of EFM
- Identify EFM Coordinator at each MTF
Command Responsibilities EFMP
- CO/OIC appoints EFM POC
- Disseminate requirements for mandatory enrollment
- Ensure confidentiality
- Conduct annual EFM training & assessment
- Forward enrollment package
- Coordinate with SSC
- Assure enrollment for EFM
- CCC assure career progression

Responsibilities of the MTF Coordinator
Forwards the package Serve as command POC -Assist in the application process -Provide training -Provide information -Provide forms -Review applications -Forward enrollment package to CSC -Refer resources -Coordinate w/ SSC -Liaison with BUPERS EFM program manager
Service Member Responsibilities for EFMP
Provides updates
- ID and enroll all family members with special needs
- Review completed application
- Update every 3 years/ 12 months prior to receiving orders, or as family needs change
- Maintain copy of the application
- Disenroll when no longer needed
