Example Briefings Flashcards

Q

Emergency briefing after V1, up to the recall items.

A

After V1

If it’s an engine problem, you will call ‘Eng Malfunction’, NOT identifying which engine.

I will take the A/C into the air, you call ‘POSITIVE CLIMB’ and I will call ‘GEAR UP’.

Remind me that G/A thrust is available and when we are safely climbing away - at a min. of 400 ft. AGL - I will ask you to ‘CONFIRM THE FAILURE’.

I will agree the failure and if recall items are required, I will initiate by calling for the ‘ENGINE FIRE CHECKLIST ”.

We will then carry out the recall items, monitored and confirmed.

Q

After v1, after checking the recall items.

A

At 1,500 ft AAL, I will call “Clean Speed” and WE will retract the Flaps according to the Flap / Speed schedule.

At clean speed, I will ask for LVL Change.

Once the Flaps are UP I will set MCT. (Now single engine, require MCT- the thrust setting allowed without damaging the ac).

I will continue the climb, engage the Autopilot and then call for the QRH and then:
After T/O Checklist.

Q

Emergency brief until v1 after the ac has stopped.

A
When the A/C has stopped you will:
Set the parking brake,
Stow the Speedbrake,
Call “Attention Crew at Stations” on the PA and
Evaluate the situation.

We will agree and confirm the failure and carry out any RECALL items.

You will then call for the appropriate QRH checklist.

If an evacuation becomes necessary at any time, I will stop what I am doing and we will execute the Evacuation QRH Checklist.
