Q

When cell is stained,it cause cell membrane to appear as 2 dark lines, explain why?

A

Membrane has phospholipids bilayer and stain bind to glycerol (tail, and the head is a phosphate group)in and out of cell

Q

Why do human Breast milk need a high number of mitochondria and Golgi vesicles?

A

Mitochondria:cells need a lot of energy to carry out the energy-intensive process of milk production

Golgi Apparatus: The Golgi apparatus is involved in the modification, packaging, and transport of proteins and lipids within the cell.

Vesicles: are involved in the secretion of milk components, allowing for the controlled release of milk from the cells into the milk ducts.

Q

Why do smaller cells have mitochondria that is distributed evenly and in larger cells most mitochondria are found close to cell membrane why does it take longer for aerobic respiration to happen in larger cells
(Use oxygen during aerobic respiration)

A

-Larger cells have smaller SA(less doors)to volume ratio
-so it takes longer for oxygen to diffuse in mitochondria
-Diffusion distance pathway is longer

Q

Outline the role of organelle in production, transport and release of protein.(no transcription and translation)

A

DNA in nucleus has code for protein and in the RER proteins are made and mitochondria is made for the Golgi which packers the protein into vesicles in order to be transported.
Vesicles fuse out of cell membrane and release protein through exocytosis.

Which cell is Golgi apparatus most abundant in?

A

Goblet cells:they secrete mucus which contains glycoprotein so it synthesis and packages glycoprotein
