- Theres no direct teaching but Christian attitudes are based off of biblical principles.

Why has there been a rise in abortions in society
- Abortion is more available as the law permits it
- We live in a less religious society its more socially acceptable.
- People are more encouraged to do what makes them happy
- People are more inclined to be sexually active outside a marriage
- People use drugs and drink more so accidents can occur there.

- It gives foetus a chance of life
- It helps infertile couples
- Allows mother to avoid trauma of abortion
- It supports sancity of life

- Its cruel to make a woman carry her rapists baby
- The womans life and welfare is more important as the birth can be dangerous for her
- It doesnt guarantee the baby will live a good life and can cause an identity crisis for them in the future
- The woman could get attached during them 9 months and adoption can be traumatic

- Remaining celibate isnt a requirement in the 21st century as people are less religious.
- There are more contraceptions so it lowers the risk of unexpected pregnancys and STIs
- Less women are getting married due to male opression
- High levels of divorce are causing people to get married less so the idea of celibacy is unrealistic.
Disagree:
- It is a sacred act and is gift given from God so we should respect it.
- People should remain chaste if they dont marry
- Christians base their views on Genesis
- Avoids unwanted pregnancys and avoids emotional hurt as they can be left feeling devalued and used
- Priests and nuns still remain chaste.

- It allows people to get to know their partners more before making this permanent decision
- They can share their lives together without spending expenses on a wedding
- Its sensible as they might not be long lasting and they can easily separate

- If a couple are in love its more practical to get married if they intend on having children
