Aircrew computes the CARP TC 3-21.220
What is the purpose of using CARP during airborne operations IAW USASOC 350-2?
To permit CARP drop operations without USAF CCT support. USASOC Reg. 350-2
For CARP operations how does the DZSO/DZSTL visually signal a No Drop?
- Form code letter into two parallel bars perpendicular to direction of flight
- Block letter formed into X
- Red Smoke (day)
- Red Flares (night)
- Any signal pre-coordinated with the Aircrew
Temporary closing / Mission Cancellation
Temporary closing is indicated by forming two parallel bars using eight vs-17 panels at the base of the ram. Perpendicular to the direction of flight.
Mission Cancellation is indicated by forming an “X” out of eight vs-17 panels, and placed at the base of the ram.
