Evaluating Caregiver-Infant Interactions Flashcards
1
Q
Explain some of the problems in testing infant behaviour.
A
•Infants mouths are fairly constant in motion and the expressions that are tested frequently (yawning, smiling)
•This makes it difficult to distinguish between general activity and specific imitated behaviour.

Q
Why does Keopke et al’s study challenge the findings of Meltzoff and Moore on interactional synchrony?
A
•Keopke didn’t get the same results after doing the same experiment.
•Meltzoff and Moore responded by saying Keopke’s research failed because it was less carefully controlled.
