what is precautionary disembarkation?
is an emergency situation where the passengers disembark the aircraft as quickly as it is deemed safe
the pace of a precautionary disembarkation is slower to minimise injury
What are the commands Cabin Crew will use during a Precautionary Disembarkation using Steps?
- “Unfasten seat belts”;
- “Leave all your baggage behind”;
- “Come this way”;
- “Form one/two lines”;
- “Move down stairs”.
What actions will Cabin Crew take when in a Precautionary Disembarkation using Steps?
- DISARM designated doors
- Assess outside conditions
- Wait for Ground Staff to knock twice to indicate steps are in position
- Check cabin pressure warning light is not flashing red
- Respond with a ‘thumbs up’ in the viewing window and then move away from door
- When stairs are in place and door is open, direct passengers using the correct commands holding onto the evacuation handle
- Take torch, check your area and assist other areas
- Take megaphone, disembark and assist on ground
