what is the biggest challenge facing nursing in the next 10 years
overworked and underpaid: hourly rates are inadequate when compared to the demands placed on them. Overworking can affect the quality of patient care they provide and it can eventually lead to burnout and fatigue due to long hours of highly demanding shifts. This can be an issue as not only is patient care going to be affected but also it puts patient’s lives at risk due to medical errors. A way that they can overcome this is by implementing support systems for healthcare workers so that their workload doesn’t have a negative impact on staff.
do you think the NHS is properly funded by the government
NHS has experienced underfunding since 2010 and staff say that underfunding stops them from doing their job properly. Less beds and doctors per head than many comparable countries. Large cuts to social care and mental health have added huge pressures on the NHS as there are not enough services outside of the hospital.
if you had £1 million to spend on healthcare, what would you spend it on and why
1million in the grand scheme of things, is a tiny amount. Even on a local level it wouldn’t go all that far. But I believe that a lot of stress and burn out comes along with professions in the NHS, so some money could go into therapy sessions for the staff. This would mean that the staff are less stressed so they’d be more productive.
what would you do if you suspected a patient was storing up drugs for a suicide attempt
I understand that the practitioner should keep a confidence between themselves and the patient as part of good care practice and in order to build trust in the relationship, however in cases where the patient poses a significant risk to the health of themselves or others, it is in the best interests of everyone to report this.
