respect- be sensitive of all aspects of the relationship between us and ppts/ sensitive of how our research can impact people/ privacy and responsibility/ respect cultural and social shared values in communities/ how our research will impact on the environment/ show compassion care and understanding as your ppts are people!!
integrity- be open and honest/ un-bias representation/ practice fairness/ avoid exploitation/ maintain personal and professional boundaries/ accountable to standards of our research
scientific initegrity- understand the potential long term harm
competence- recognize limits of our own limits and skills and when professional training may be required. what skills do we need to serve the people/ we need to recognize when to refer to another professional/ keep updated on advances in evidence/ maintain practical and technical skills/ caution in making knowledge claims
responsibility- responsibility to the general public, the profession, - avoiding harm whilst appying these values= professional accountability/ responsibility in relation to the use of knowledge/ respect and welfare for humans and non humnas and living world/ understand competing duties
