Name the Army Values
Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage.
Values are principles, standards, or qualities considered essential.
Empathy
Experience something from someone else’s point of view.
Name the warrior ethos.
I will always place the mission first
I will never accept defeat
I will never quit
I will never leave a fallen comrade
Discipline
Actions consistent with Army Values. Willing to obey lawful orders.
Humility
Motivated to serve mission goals ahead of actions that are self serving. Possess honest and accurate self-understanding.
Eager for input from others. The absence or arrogance. An unselfish leader.
Three options to approach Ethical Reasoning.
Option 1: courage, justice, & benevolence define ethical outcomes.
Option 2: set or agreed upon. Values like Army Values our constitutional rights.
Option 3: decision is based on whatever causes greatest good for the greatest number of people.
Leaders who can consider all three are ethically astute.
