Define Privacy
Here the invasion of a person’s personal and physical space is avoided
Define Debriefing
Participants are provided with a full explanation of the aims and potential consequences of the study at the end. Allows participants to leave in the same psychological state as when they arrived
Define Protection
Participants should not be exposed to any grater physical / psychological risk than what should be expected in their day-to-day life
Define Informed Consent
Participants should know enough about the study to decide for themselves if they want to agree to participate
Define Right to Withdraw
Relates to participants being ensured they can remove themselves and their data from the study at any time
Define Deception
Participants should not be misinformed on purposely about the aim / procedure of the study
Define Confidentiality
States participants’ results and personal information is kept private and safely and not released to anyone outside the study
