what are the dangers of chlorine?
A
- it is a toxic gas
- small doeses are irritant to eyes, skin and respiraory system
- can form HCl in the lungs if inhailed

- steel tank must be dry otherwise cholrine will react with water
- turned inot a liquid before transportation by pressurising it = more can be contained in tankers
- tankers are made to reale some chlorine gas if temp or pressure becomes too high

how do workers make sure the cylinder that chlorine is stored in isnt leaking?
A
by placing a cloth soaked in conc. ammonia solutiin and if cylinder is leaking then white clouds of ammonia will be seen

what are the main uses of chlorine?
A
- water treatment
- kills bacteria and pathogens
- household bleach (acts as oxdidising agent) removeig stains by breaking bonds in coloured chemicals to form courless chemicals
