Tender, erythematous nodules which resolve after 6 weeks.

A
Scarring.

A
On the shins.

What are the causes of erythema nodosum. (5)
A
Infection (streptococcus, tuberculosis).
Sarcoidosis.
Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis).
BCG vaccine.
Leptospirosis.
Yersinia (and other viruses and fungi).
Drugs (sulfonamides, dapsone, the pill).
Idiopathic (30-50%).

What do the lesions of erythema nodosum look like. (3)
A
Painful, blue-red, raised lesions on shins (and arms and thighs).
