What is the purpose of an LCL extension?
To allow personnel to continue to be monitored with dosimetry in the performance of their assigned duties.

What is the purpose of an ERC and figure 2-2?
- To record results of TLDs that are processed for a 13-week or longer issue period.
- Used to keep track of radiation exposure for personnel entering a HRA (High Radiation Area).
- They are maintained at the control point. Personnel that are qualified to enter a HRA must be monitored by an EPD.
- Control Point Watch records EPD results on ERC and the CRA reviews monthly.
What are the signature requirements for ERCs and figures 2-2?
Block 21 which is the Control point entry authorization must be initialed by the CRA prior to entry and also the last line for the month it needs to be initialed by the CRA to ensure compliance to LCL
What do you do if the EPD reading on the ERC does not match the final TLD reading for the same period?
You would use the 30/30 rule, if exceeded you would conduct a dose investigation.
What are the differences between the Figure 2-2 and the NAVMED 6470/3?
Figure 2-2 records cumulative year-to-date exposure while the NAVMED 6470/3 records only the issuance period.
