Screening programs
A
Breast:
- Mammograms every 2 years beginning at age 50. Do NOT begin before age 40.
Cervical cancer:
- Pap smears cytology beginning age 25 every 3 years.
- HPV testing starting at age 35, every 5 years
Colorectal cancer:
- men and women starting at age 50, fecal occult blood test every 2 years.
- colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy every 10 years.
Prostate cancer:
- PSA screening program not standardized, but recommended for males aver age 50.
- DRE also, but no standard times.
