Clinical response criteria and Performance status score Flashcards
What are Clinical response criteria
Are used to evaluate and copmare clinical trials with a standardized system.
WHO system
RECIST system
IRRC sytem
List the WHO clinical response criteria
Complete Response
- all known lesions dissapear, 2 consecutive observations, at least 4 weeks apart.
Partial Response
- 50% or more decrease in total tumor size with no progression or new lesions
No Change
- No more than a 50% increase in total tumor size and no more than a 25% increase in any individual tumor
Progressive disease
- More than a 25% increase in any lesion or the appearance of any new lesion.
The IRRC system
Immune Related Response Criteria.
Allows for a temporary increase in lesions, due to tumor flare up, which is known to occur with targeted biologic treatments.
Performance status score
Uses the Karnofsky performance status score which is from 0 to 100. 0 = dead 100 = perfect.
