Q

Steps of enzyme action

A
  1. Substrate enters the active site of enzyme
  2. Enzyme changes shape slightly as substrate binds
  3. Enzyme/Products complex. Substrate splits
  4. Products (split substrate) leave the active site

Q

Enzyme specificity theory?

A

Most enzymes are specific to one substrate. This means that itโ€™ll only react to one particular substrate.
E.g amylase only acts on starch
