point 1, example and counter argument for usefulness BIOLOGICAL RHYTHMS
Point : can be of use if it has real world applications.
Example : Preckel found that school children in Germany who had a chronotype of an owl were likely to have a lower GPA, which suggests that high school should start at a later time to benefit students who are owls.
Counter-argument : However it might not be practical or affordable to put in place.
point 2, example and counter argument for usefulness BIOLOGICAL RHYTHMS
Point : useful it it furthers our understanding.
Example : Czeisler’s research in the potash factory where he changed the shift pattern and moved workers to a 21 day cycle furthered out understanding of how biological rhythms can be used in organisations to make worker happier and more productive.
Counter-argument : However we don’t know if this is the case unitl after the results have been analysed.
point 3, example and counter argument for usefulness BIOLOGICAL RHYTHMS
Point : less useful if it has low reliability due to a small sample.
Example : Michel Siffre was the only participant who spent 2 months in a cave in France to find out what his natural body clock would do. His experience could have been unique.
Counter-argument : However, we don’t know if this is the case until after the results have been analysed.
