Swollen uvula
Tonsils- white spots/swollen= bacterial
Throat redness
Sinus exam
Tap over
Frontal- between brows
Sphenoid- between temple and top of ear
Maxiallry- under cheek bone near mouth
Ethmoid- between bridge of nose and eye
Looking for with sinus
P
Swelling
Tenderness
Thyroid exam
Palpate cricoid cartilage, come slightly down
Should feel like butterfly- shouldnt be inflamed
Palpate one side at a time
Turn head toward side of palpation to relax SCM
Lymph check list
No bigger than pea
Consistency- should be rubbery
Tenderness
Fixation- should be moveable
Cervical nodes
Submental and submandibular
Tonisllar and parotid
Pre and post auricular
Superficial cervical and supraclavicular
Post cervical and occipital
Cervical order of palpation
Start- throat
Work superior to angle of mandible
Come in front of ears
Underneath ears and behind them
Down SCM to supra/infra clavicular
Bring contact back up to sub occipitals
Ant axillary border
Pectoral nodes- drain chest and abdo hence inflamed with breast Ca
Palpate behind lateral edge of pec min
Medial axillary border
Palpate thoracic wall
Posterior axillary border
Inside lateral edge of lats
Subscapular- drains upper back
Apex of axilla
In armpit
Central- receives drainage from ant/post humeral nodes, goes to apical node
Humeral nodes
Pinch around upper arm, laterally and medially
Epitrochlear
Squeeze bicep strat from bottom and work up
!st sign of skin Ca- inflammed
Inguinal
From ASIS following inguinal ligament
Find femoral pulse and bring contact down to horizontal group, from here bring contact down to vertical group
