a style of poetry written in the 17th century by English poets who supported King Charles I, the topics are love, nature, drinking, beauty, social life, and they avoid heavy topics, they are short and they promote royalist ideas

was a poetic movement that took place in the late 18th and early 19th centuries as a means of rebelling against the neoclassicism movement and the enlightenment era that preceded it.
