Engine Start Flashcards
What are the considerations associated with a ground crew exceeding 5 knots during the pushback?
If either hyd sys 1 or 2 is depressurized, the autobrake will automatically disarm. BRK LH (RH) FAULT advisory message will appear OR BRK LH (RH) FAULT caution message
What is required to generate a green light during pushback?
Steering disengaged (external)
PBrake off
Main brakes not applied
What are the starter duty cycles on the ground?
Start 1 & 2 90sec on 10sec off
3&4 90sec on 5min off
What conditions would justify dry motoring an engine?
To cool down ITT
Very cold operations
Provide at least two considerations with respect to cold weather engine starts.
Start engines after pushback
N1 needs freedom of rotation. Check on walkaround to ensure they arent stuck to the engine cowling.
Oil pressure may be slow to respond then exceed normal operating range then return to normal
Which engine do we normally start if we plan a single engine taxi? Why?
Eng1 because of hyd pump SE taxi logic allows all hyd pumps to turn on which gies us both inboard and outboard brakes
Are we permitted to single engine taxi using the right engine?Considerations?
Yes. Turn on ACMP 1 manually. Turn back to auto once Eng 1 is running
What is the minimum pressure required for a cross-bleed engine start? Where can this pressure be referenced?
40psi, Status page
