Engine Flashcards
What is Max trust?
14,200 lbs
What engines are on the E-175?
General Electric CF34-8E5
What type of engine is on the E-175?
Hi-bypass/dual-rotor turbofan
- 10-stage compressor with variable geometry/ 2-stage HP turbine
- 1 stage fan/4-stage LP turbine
Engine Lubrication system
Each engine, IDG and the APU have their own independent system
How can each engine be started?
- APU air
- Crossbleed air source
- External air start
- Windmilling start airborn
How man igniters?
Two per engine
Start sequence controlled by?
FADEC controller
Normal starter sequence?
- N2 rotation 7% N2 - Ignition
- 20% N2 fuel flow (lights-off with in 5 sec) Normal access & oil pressure
- 50% N2 ignition off & starter cut-out Normal access & Stabilization
How are thrust reversers actuated?
Hydraulically actuated
What protects against inadvertent deployment?
FADEC provides interlock protection against inadvertent deployment
- Idle trust commanded if opened in flight
ATTCS (automatic takeoff thrust control system)
- Controlled by FADEC
- Automatically provides max engine thrust (RSV) whenever its armed, thrust levers TOGA, and
- Difference between N1 values > 15%
- One engine failure during takeoff
- One engine failure during go-around
- Windshear detection
- Automatically armed for normal go-around (GA) mode`
What is minimum oil pressure after engine start?
-25 psi
What is the minimum PSI for crossbleed start?
- 40 psi
When starting when is fuel introduced?
- Fuel is automatically introduced when N2 is 20% and as long as ITT IS 120 degrees or less.
