7
Q

Give an example of energy being stored.

A

When an elastic band is pulled, elastic potential energy is being stored and then transferred to kinetic energy making the elastic band move.

Chemical energy is stored in an apple.

Q

What is a good example of an energy conversion?

A

Bow and arrow:
When the string is pulled back, the bow stores elastic potential energy. When the arrow is released, the elastic potential energy is converted to kinetic energy to make the arrow move through the air. This is then turned to gravitational potential energy making the arrow fall to the ground and it then turns to heat energy from the friction on landing. Energy cannot be destroyed.
