Q

How are Medical Certificates obtained?

A

Through an authorized Aviation Medical Examiner (AME)

  • The student will have to pay for the examination whether they pass or not
  • A medical exam is not REQUIRED until the student wishes to solo
  • Getting the medical exam done before flight training begins is very benificial for the student and the instructor
  • Getting the highest class medical certificate possible gives the student more options and costs the same
  • After obtaining a certificate the student can use the new FAA BasicMed program if they desire
