It is a messenger system that relies on hormones
What are hormones?
They are chemical signals sent to different areas of the body
What is the Adrenal Gland responsible for?
Triggering flight or fight; Making Adrenaline and Cortisol
Where is the Adrenal Gland located?
Sitting above the Kidneys
What are the roles of Adrenaline and Cortisol?
Getting you hyperactive, or stressed
What is the job of the Pancreas?
It regulates sugar levels in blood
What is the role of Insulin?
It regulates blood sugar levels
What is the Pituitary Gland responsible for?
It controls other glands
What gland is the Pituitary Gland controlled by?
The Hypothalamus
What gland regulates sleep?
Pineal Gland
What is the Thyroid responsible for?
Regulating metabolism
What is the Parathyroid responsible for?
Regulating Calcium in the blood
Where is the Parathyroid in relation to the Thyroid?
Parathyroids are located within the Thyroid
What chemical do Testes make?
Testosterone
What chemicals do the Ovaries make?
Estrogen and Progesterone
