• Parenteral insulin administration

- regular, NPH (isophane), lente, ultralente, PZI
* insulin therapy must be tailored to each individual animal
• Diet w/ inc. complex carbohydrates and fiber (or inc. protein/low carbohydrate in cats)
• Oral hypoglycemic drugs
• Weight loss (if NIDDM)
