A
Irreversible chronic kidney damage that has progressed to such an extent that renal displacement therapy s required for survival

Presentation of ESRD?
A
- Depression and fatigue
- Crepitations due to pulmonary oedema
- Ammonia breath
- Cough
- HT, pericarditis
- Ankle swelling
- Ankle oedema
- N/V
- Skin dry/itchy/purpura
- Raised JVP
- Pale conjunctiva or tongue

Investigations of ESRD?
A
- Monthly monitoring of renal function
- FBC
- Haematinic assay
- Bone profile
- PTH Measurement
- Hep B,C and HIV serology every 6-12 months

- Haemodialysis
- Peritoneal dialysis
- Renal transplant
