Sudden respiratory distress that wakes a person at night.
-caused by fluid accumulation in lungs
*coughing,feeling suffocated,cold sweats, and tachycardia
Coffee Ground Emesis
Upper GI Bleed
Melaena
*Black tarry stool cause by an Upper GI bleed.
*Also a slow lower GI Bleed
Hematochizia
Lower GI Bleed with bright red blood.
Heat exhaustion
Loss of water and electrolytes from heavy sweating.
-Dizziness, Syncope,
-Nausea, Vomiting, Headache
-Cold,Clammy
-Dry Tongue and thirst with a slightly elevated body temp up to 104.
Rapid weak pulse
O2 and air for stroke and Heart attack
94% without respiratory distress

Albuterol (Proventil)
Class: sympathomimetic, bronchodilator, beta 2 agonist (lungs)
Indications: asthma, bronchospasms, anaphylaxis, hyperkalemia
Onset: 5-8 min
Duration: 2-6 hours
Dose: 2.5 mg diluted in 3 mL of NS
Epinephrine (Adrenalin)
Class: sympathomimetic
Indications: anaphylaxis, cardiac arrest, bradycardia
Onset: 1-2 min IV, 5-10 min SQ
Duration: 5-10 min
Dose Adults: *cardiac arrest: 1mg (0.1mg/1ml) IV/IO every 3-5 min.
*anaphylaxis/asthma: 0.3-0.5 mg SQ/IM (1mg/1mL)
*post cardiac arrest/ bradycardia with severe hypotension: 2-10 mcg/min iv drip and titrate.
Dose peds: cardiac arrest: 0.01mg/kg (0.1mg/1mL) IV/IO max of 1 mg every 3-5 min
Anaphylaxis/asthma: 0.01mg/kg (1mg/1mL) SQ/IM with a max single does of 0.3 mg.
