- Prohibits age discrimination against individuals who are over 40
- Doesn’t provide protection for empoyess under 40
What does equal pay act address?
Compensation discrimination: Mandates that men and women in the same workplace should receive equal pay for equal work
* Based on skill and effort
* Can’t reduce wages of either sex to equalize pay if there was an initial inequality in wages

What does the ADA address?
Disability discrimination: prohibits employers from discriminating against individuals with disabilities with reasonable accomodations
What is record of such impairment?
an individual having a medical record documenting a physical or mental impairment
What is “Regarded as having such an impairment”?
an individual being discriminated against due to an actual or perceived physical or mental impairment
Protects employers by requiring those who work under federal government contracts and those who have received federal grants (>$100,000) to implement programs that will reduce or eliminate employee drug use

What is the difference among robbery, burglary, theft?
Robbery: Illegal taking of property from a person of another by violence or intimidation
Burglary: The offense of breaking & entering into a structure for the intent of committing a felony
Theft: Unlawful taking & carrying away of someone else’s personal property with the intent to deprive the owner of it permanently
Robbery with the use of a gun or other weapon that can do bodily harm
