What is the Cannon-Bard Theory?
Tha around bodily reaction to a stimuli and our emotional reaction occur SIMULTANEOUSLY
What is the James-Lange Theory?
That we need to be aware of our bodily reaction to stimuli, and THEN we feel the corresponding emotion
What is the Two-Factor Theory?
Emotions have two components:
1.) Physical reaction/arousal
2.) Cognitive appraisal
emotions require a conscious interpretation of the physical reaction.
What is the Schachter-Singer Theory?
Our experience of emotion depends on the two-factor theory
What is Zajonc, LeDoux’s theory/belief?
Some embodied responses happen instantly, without conscious appraisal.
What is the Lazarus theory?
we do cognitive appraisal (“Is it dangerous or not?”) sometimes without our awareness;
defines emotion.
