A

Indications:

  • FADEC audio
  • FADEC FAIL CAS
  • FADEC MANUAL CAS
  • RESTART FAULT CAS
  • FADEC mode to MANUAL

Procedure

  1. Throttle - time permits, match throttle to Ng indication
  2. Nr/Np 95-100%
  3. Depress FADEC mode button to mute
  4. Land as soon as practical
  5. Shutdown

A

Condition: Fuel valve is in transition or is not at its commanded position or the circuit breaker is out

Procedure:

  1. Check circuit in
  2. Land as soon as practical
  3. If on ground: cycle switch

  • Roll of the fuselage

Procedure:

  1. Close throttle
  2. Perform hover auto

A

Indications:

  • Right Yaw
  • Nose tucking
  • Roll of the fuselage

Procedure:

  1. Throttle - Idle
  2. Immediately enter auto
  3. 55kts minimum airspeed
  4. Throttle - closed
  5. Slight flare
  6. Touchdown, slightly nose high to correct side drift. Expect run-on type landing

Fixed Pitch Failure

A

*inability to change TR Thrust
Indications: lack of response, locked pedals

Hover: better controlled with power, if hard right yaw - close throttle

Left Pedal: run on landing “lucky left”
Right Pedal: close throttle as you raise collective “rotten right”

Loss of Hydraulic Pressure

A

Indications:

  • Hydraulic CAS
  • Grinding from pump
  • Increased control forces and feedback

Procedure:

  1. 70-100 knots
  2. HYD Breaker - OUT, If not restored - IN
  3. If not restored: HYD Switch - OFF
  4. ASI - up to 120 knots for control forces
  5. Land as soon as practical
  6. Recommended run on landing

Flight Control Actuator Malfunction

A

Indications: uncommanded movements of 1 or 2 controls requiring forces in 1 axis, forces normal in unaffected axis

Procedure:

  1. Maintain attitude
  2. HYD Switch - OFF
  3. ASI: 70-100 knots
  4. Land as soon as possible using Loss of Hydraulic Pressure procedure

A

Indications: high forward/aft forces, normal pedal/collective/lateral cyclic forces

Procedure:

  1. Maintain normal pitch attitudes
  2. Land as soon as practical

  1. Generator field reset
  2. Circuit breaker - IN
  3. If not restored - GEN - OFF

Dual Fuel Transfer Failure

A

Indications: L/R Fuel Transfer CAS, Last 151.0 lbs in forward cell unusable, Fuel will stop transferring to main at 344.1 total pounds

Procedure:

  1. L/R Transfer Switches - Check ON
  2. Determine fuel in forward cell
  3. Subtract trapped fuel from total
  4. Plan landing accordingly

  1. VNE - 60 knots
  2. Pedal stop emergency release - PULL

Excessive Electrical Load

A

Indications: Increase in amps, smoke or fumes

Procedure:

  1. Vents - OPEN
  2. Begin Descent
  3. GEN Switch - OFF
  4. Land as soon as practical
  5. During remaining flight - fumes do not decrease: ASI - 60 knots or less
  6. BATT - OFF
  7. Left Transfer/Boost - ON
  8. If fumes do not decrease: Land as soon as possible

A

Indications: smoke, fumes

Procedure:
1. Descend
2. Air conditioner blower - OFF
3. Heater - OFF
4. All vents - OPEN
5. Identify source
6. If fumes clear - Land as soon as practical
If fumes persist - Land as soon as possible

Electrical Fire

A

Indications: smoke fumes or fire, possible indication of abnormal amps

Procedures:

  1. Vents - OPEN as required to ventilate cabin
  2. Begin descent
  3. GEN - OFF
  4. Airspeed - 60 knots or less
  5. BATT Switch - OFF
  6. Left Fuel Transfer/Boost - ON
  7. Use standby airspeed and altimeter indicators
  8. Land as soon as possible
    * With battery and generator off, 80% charged battery will operate left fuel boost/transfer pump for approx 1.7 hours
    * Pedal stop disengages w/ loss of electrical power
    * When throttle is set to idle during shutdown the PMA will go off line and the engine may flame out

A

Indications: Red X on: ASI CAS, ALT FAIL CAS, Vertical Speed CAS, OAT CAS, Pedal stop displays

Procedure:

  1. Use standby ASI and ALT
  2. ASI below 60 knots
  3. ADC Breaker - Check IN
  4. Land as soon as practical

A

Indications: Master W/C Light and Audio, Red X Com2/Nav2, Loss of GPS 2, Pedal Stop Caution (If above 55 knots)

Procedure:
1. ASI below 60 knots
2. Use alternate Com/Nav
*You will loose cautions: BW CHQX
Batt Relay, WOG, CYC, HYD, Quantity Button, XMSN

A

Indications: Master W/C Light and Audio, Red X - Fuel Quant, Fuel Pressure, Transmission Oil temp/press, ENG oil temp/press, GEN amp, BUS volt

Procedure:

  1. Land as soon as practical
    * You will loose: CHIP Cautions (ENG, TR, XMSN)

A

Indications: Decreasing PSI, Np, Nr

Procedure:

  1. Collective 85-107% Nr
  2. Throttle - FLY
  3. Match throttle indication to Ng indication
  4. FADEC - MANUAL mode
  5. Nr 95-100%
  6. Land as soon as practical

A

Indications: Increasing PSI, Np, Nr

Procedure:

  1. Throttle - Retard
  2. Ng or Np - Stabilize with throttle and collective
  3. FADEC - MANUAL Mode
  4. Nr 95-100%

*If unable to maintain Nr, Np, or PSI - Enter Auto

Engine Compressor Stall

A

Indications: Engine pops, Increasing MGT/erratic, Decreasing Nr/Np/erratic, PSI oscillations

Procedure:
1. Collective - reduce for slow cruise
2. PSI - Check
3. ENG ANT-ICE - ON
4. Heater - ON
Continue? 5. Collective - slowly increase 6. PSI Monitor 7. Land as soon as practical
Shutdown Required? 5. Enter Autorotation 6. Throttle - Closed 7. Fuel Valve - OFF 8. Collective - Adjust to maintain 85-107% Nr 9. Cyclic - Adjust for desired airspeed 10. Prepare for power-off landing

Main Drive Shaft Failure

A

Indications: Left yaw, Decreasing Nr rapidly, Increasing Np rapidly, low RPM audio, RPM light, MFD to ENG page, increase in noise

Procedure:

  1. Maintain HDG and ATT
  2. Collective 85-107%
  3. Cyclic - adjust for desired airspeed
    * **To maintain TR effectiveness, DO NOT shut down engine
  4. Complete Auto Landing
  5. Complete helicopter shutdown

Engine Restart in Flight

A
  • Attempt only if time permits
  • Do not attempt if failure is obviously mechanical

Procedure:

  1. Collective - adjust for 85-107%
  2. ASI - as desired
  3. Fuel Valve - ON
  4. Throttle - Cutoff
  5. Start Switch - Hold to start position
  6. Ng - Between 12-50%
  7. Throttle - Idle
  8. PSI - Monitor
  9. Engine oil pressure - Check
  10. Throttle - Advance smoothly to FLY detent

If unsuccessful:

  1. Throttle - Closed
  2. Fuel Valve - OFF
  3. Accomplish autorotative descent and landing

A

Indications: Increasing PSI rapidly, Increasing MGT, smoke/fire

Procedure:

  1. Throttle - Closed
  2. Fuel Valve - OFF
    * Starter remains engaged until MGT is below 150C
  3. Ensure starter is motoring
  4. Shutdown

Procedure:

  1. Maintain - HDG and ATT
  2. Collective - adjust to control Nr and rate of descent, increase to cushion

Indications: Left yaw, Engine out CAS, Master W/C Light, RPM Warning Light, Indicating power loss, MFD to engine page, Ng decreasing below 55% with engine out audio, Nr decreasing below 95% with RPM low audio

Procedure:

  1. Maintain - HDG and ATT
  2. Collective - adjust 85-107%
  3. Cyclic - desired auto speed
  4. Restart if time permits
  5. Fuel Valve - OFF
  6. Low altitude: Throttle - Closed, flare
  7. Collective - adjust to reduce forward movement and cushion
  8. Complete helicopter shutdown

A

Indications: MFD/PFD fails, reversionary mode is not displayed within 5 seconds

Procedure:

  1. DU BACKUP button - PRESS
  2. Operating display will immediately revert to reversionary mode.
  3. Land as soon as practical
