How are the Emergency Lights powered and activated?
The emergency lights are powered by four 6.4 volt Ni-Cad battery packs located in the vicinity of the cabins doors above the passenger compartment. The Left Main DC buses charges the battery packs.
They activate when the Left Main DC bus loses power if the switch is in the ARMED position or if manual activated.
Describe the ELT.
Interal 7.5v battery.
Located in the dorsal fin, forward of the vertical stablilizer.
How long do the FDR and CVR record for and how are they activated?
The CVR records the last 2hrs of flight deck comms, area microphone, PAs and clock data.
The FDR records 25hrs of data including flight path, attitude, engine, flight control and other systems.
Both turn on with the anti-collison lights on, both engines running or if the aircraft is airborne.
