Emergency Drills - Engine Flashcards
1
Q
Low Oil Pressure - “Check Oil”
A
Low Oil Pressure - “Check Oil”
- Establish S&L Erect Flight with positive g.
- Power Lever ……………….. Min Required
- OIL P and OIL T …………… Check
If warning clears within 5 sec:
- Continue Sortie - Ensure Aerobatic & Spinning Limitations (N-22) are obeyed.
If warning not cleared and appears during or immediately after reduced or negative-g flight and OIL P is still below 35 psi:
- Apply positive g, up to 4g for 2 sec, to attempt to re-seat the Inverted Oil Valve.
If warning clears and OIL P is normal following step 5:
- No further reduced or negative-g flight
- Land as soon as practicable
If OIL P remains below 35 psi in S&L erect flight:
- Land ASAP, be prepared for Forced Landing (E-20)
- Consider precautionary engine shutdown in flight using Engine Fire/Mechanical Engine Failure (E-16)
