Triage
What do we assess first?
Gumshoe pulse, respiration, attitude
Triage priority list.
Respiratory, cardio, neurological, urogenital, abdominal, musculoskeletal
What are the top three vital signs?
TPR, mm, weight
What are the fourth and fifth vital sign?
Bp, pain level
Baseline lab work.
Pcv, tp, bg, urine s.g
How can we stabilize patients?
Ensure airway, IV catheter, maintain body temp, pain management
What causes respiratory arrest?
Shock, overdose, structural disorders, foreign bodies, head injury
How do we treat respiratory arrest?
Intubate, artificially respirate, stop anesthetic, stimulate, clear obstruction
What is the time limit for cardiac arrest?
Four minutes
What are the warning signs of cardiac arrest?
ECG change, cyanosis, pulse change, dark blood
Decreased blood volume.
Hypocolemic shock
Allergic reaction
Anaphylactic shock
Unable to pump blood.
Carcinogenic shock
Overwhelming infection.
Septic shock
