Move all passengers from the affected vehicle. Ensure that the vehicle is isolated and if possible travel in the vehicle being ready to deal with any other outbreaks. If it is not possible to travel in the vehicle, it must then be checked regularly.

A

 If passengers are in safer situation being left on the train, then advise them to stay on the train until arrangements are in place to get them safely off the set.
 If it is deemed safer to evacuate the passengers: Which side of the train provides the safest exit.
 The locations of bridge parapets, over bridges, tunnels etc.
 Are there any other members of staff or competent people on the train to assist with the evacuation?
 What equipment can be used to assist in the safe and timeous evacuation of all passengers – ladders, rope etc.

What action would you take if you discovered a Hypodermic Syringe on board the train you were working on?

A

Immediately isolate the area and move passengers away from the hazard. Do not touch it. Arrange for Hazard to be removed by specialist equipment by contacting control.
