Identify the duties of the principle contractor under CDM 2015
- Ensure health and safety information is communicated and understood
- Prepare, review, update and revise the construction phase plan
- Ensure the construction phase plan is produced before the site is set up
- Must co-operate with the designer
- Must provide the principle designer with relevant information that needs to be includd in the H&S fiile
Outline the information that should be included in the health and safety file
The health and safety fie should contain information which is needed to allow any future construction work ( cleaning, maintenance, demolitions etc). The file should alert those who will carry the work out if there is any risks invloved. the principle designer will set up the file and maintain it as and when required. The information contained will be compiled by different people involved in the project such as theprinciple contractor and the file must be made available for any inspection from the contractors or other relevant parties
Under CDM 2015 identify the duties placed upon the client
- Appoint competent designers and contractors
- Notify the HSE where required with a F10 as soon as practicable and before construction starts
- Provide pre-construction information as soon as is practicable to every designer / contractor.
- Ensure that a H&S plan is produced before construction tsarts by the Principle contractor
Identify the issues that should be addressed when to establish whether a contractor is competent and should be appointed
The contractor must has the skills, kinowledge, experience and organisational capability to undertake their duty holder roles in a way that secures H&S of people affected by the project.
The contractor cannot accept appointment unless they comply with the above.

The experience of similar projects
The exerience and qualifications of there staff
