a continuous spectrum of waves split into seven distinct groups
range from waves with a short wavelength, high frequency and high energy to the opposite
from low to high:
- radio waves
- microwaves
- infared
- visible light
- ultraviolet
- x-rays
- gamma rays
radio waves have the lowest frequency and gamma rays have the highest
speed of EM waves in air or a vacuum

What happens as the frequency of the radiation increases?

Work out the range of frequencies that the human eye detects. [3]

a) Calculate the wavelength of the source [3]
b) State what part of the electromagnetic spectrum this radiation belongs to [1]
