What should you check after donning the LSJ pre-flight?
That the PLB activation lanyard has not been pulled.
What should you do immediately after disconnecting the PLB activation lanyard?
Insert into the clip on the LSJ.
What should you do if a PLB is inadvertently activated?
Inform ATC ASAP.
Remove PLB from LSJ, re-insert pin and return it to the AEA bay.
If the canopy is closed on the line during the see-off, what can you expect to see from the groundcrew?
A 2 finger challenge and thumbs up signal to confirm correct stowage.
On see-in, what should you do when you see the groundcrew point two fingers towards the pin stowage?
Check pins fully inserted in seat and MDC handles.
Respond with two fingers and a thumbs up.
Recite the procedure for pin movement pre-take off.
Before Command eject selected ON, seat and MDC pins moved in front cockpit.
Rear seat pilot visually confirms front pins moved correctly, then move their own pins.
Front seat should get verbal confirmation from back seat that pins have moved.
Recite the procedure for pin movement after landing.
Once Command Eject selected OFF, rear seat pilot moves pins.
Front Seat pilot gets verbal confirmation, then moved their pins.
Rear seat pilot visually confirms front pins moved before allowing canopy to be opened.
State the controlled ejection procedure when Command Eject is ON.
Consider:
Who initiates ejection.
What happens if the aircraft commander is in the rear seat?
What happens if the aircraft commander is in the front seat?
Ejection initiated by rear seat occupant.
If aircraft commander is in rear seat, he says “Prepare to eject” before pulling handle.
If aircraft commander is in front seat, he orders rear seat occupant to “Eject, Eject”.
What should you do if you drop a pin?
Do not attempt to reach for the pin.
Remain fully strapped in and contact company frequency.
Follow the IFG procedure.
