EIIP’s primary responsibility is to identify trends and patterns in employee behavior before they become realized risks and liabilities for the department and employee, EIIP uses a proactive, multi-pronged, approach to research and address identified trends and patterns. This approach includes?

A

a. statements of complaint, citizen contacts, citizen review board requests, uses of force, sick time, over time and productivity.
b. Examination of arrest paperwork, communications reports, dispatch recordings, cad, body camera footage and dsd video.
c. Interviews with all levels of chain of command.
d. Post certified classes designed to explain IAB and EIIP
e. Recommendations of appropriate training, remedial action and support services.

What are some benefits of EIIP?

A

A

Supervisors can intervene in a productive way and address trends or patterns before employee misconduct. Any supervisory action taken to this end is INFORMAL, FLEXIBLE and CONFIDENTIAL.

Employee performance review EPR. What is the EPR and who can request it?

A

Employee performance review is a snapshot of an employees work history- typically over a three year period. Any supervisor can request EPR on their employees by contacting EIIP.

EIIP Alert process, what are the three colors of the dashboard and what do they represent and what time duration are they calculated from?

A

Green-indicates there are no identifiable issues. Yellow- employee is one incident away from reaching a threshold. Red- indicates employee has reached or surpassed threshold. Incidents are calculated on a rolling year with firearms discharges on a rolling 60 month.

What are the indicators for the dashboard?

A

SOC’s, sustained complaints, citizen review board requests, UOF, rifle deployments, firearm discharges, vehicle pursuits, vehicle accidents, and primary indicators (DV, alchol/drugs, criminal issues, moral turpitude, indebtness/garnishment)

What does EIIP do on a broader scale in regards to patrol squads?

A

EIIP has established alert thresholds for first line supervisors and their squads overall performance as it relates to SOC’s and UOF. This does not appear on the dashboard of the supervisor but the alert is sent to the second line supervisor.

When must first line supervisors review their blue team dashboards and respond to EIIP alerts?

A

Supervisors will review their employees’ dashboard on a monthly basis and respond to EIIP alerts within 14 days. EIIP alerts will be returned to EIIP via blue team within 45 days of the chain receiving an alert email notification.
