List the EICAS messages in order of priority
- Warning (red)
- Caution (amber)
- Advisory (green)
- Status (white)
Define warning messages and can they be boxed?
Immediate priority actions with multiple warnings such as triple chime, flashing, aural.
Cannot be boxed.
Define caution messages and can they be boxed?
Urgent messages, single chime/flashing.
Can be boxed on the ground when engines are stable with the CAS button.
Define advisory messages, can they be boxed?
Safe/normal conditions.
Cannot be boxed
Define status messages, can they be boxed?
Abnormal but low priority message. Often loss of redundancy or low level failure.
Can be boxed with stat button.
After boxing a caution or status message what will happen when you receive an additional message?
New message goes on top. Status messages will expand box to show all items.
What happens if ED1 fails in flight?
Auto transfers to ED2. Follow QRH to troubleshoot.
How can you display EICAS page on MFD?
Display reversionary panel select EICAS.
If the MFD fails can you display it on another screen?
No
When will the N1 vibration gauges appear?
When engines are running and oil pressure is stable.
Which indications are not always displayed on EICAS
APU, Flaps/Gear Position, Brake temps.
Following an EICAS Control panel failure, what buttons remain operative?
PRI, STAT, CAS, STEP are hard wired.
Can master warning/caution switch lights be dimmed?
Yes
Can volume for aural warnings be turned down?
No just muted
List everything that might give you a takeoff config warning:
Parking brake on, autopilot engaged, flap/spoiler not at takeoff position, trim out of takeoff green range.
