Effects of Crime Flashcards
1
Q
Local effects of crime
A
- depopulation as people move away because they don’t feel safe at home.
- loss of community spirit and less neighbourliness, as people try and stay low to avoid trouble, so they become isolated.
- this will lead to poverty in the area as businesses and jobs go away.
- the area is labelled a ‘sink area’ so anyone who lives there will be discriminated against in the future or seen as part of the crime.
