What Happened?

• Found allies in Brittany and Burgundy
• Prepared to fight
• Allies backed out, safer to make treaties with France
• Edward went on anyway and ended up with Treaty of Picquigny

Treaty of Picquigny:

• LXI pays £50,000 crowns per year to England.
• Dauphin to marry one of Edward’s daughters.

Scotland

Answer 2

Marriage alliance made in 1473:

• Edward’s daughter married James’ son.
• Edward to pay £20,000 crowns over 17yrs.

Scottish break truce and Edward plans a campaign against them. His navy has built up to 15-16 Naval ships.
Campaign fizzled out because Edward was delayed in London.

Edward put his brother Richard in charge of dealing with Scotland. Richard captured Berwick and James troops deserted him.
